Just "Plane" Fun

Saturday, we went to the Commando Family Day on base. They had the airplanes on display, a DJ, food, free giveaways, bouncy castles, a fire truck and some maintenance equipment for the kids to climb on. It was neat for all of us to be able to see up close one of the planes that Craig flies. They didn't have a Q-200 (the other plane he flies) available for us to see, but we did get to check out the PC-12, the plane he will be training to fly soon.
I just love it when they have these family days, and we are able to see inside all the planes. It's just so overwhelming to see all the buttons, switches and gauges that these guys use to fly. It just reminds me that Craig, Nick and Bryan have a pretty cool (and hard... and scary) job!

Of course, he had to wear his airplane shirt for the big event! (thanks Liz for the cute shirt)

Back of the M-28 (the one Craig flies)
Andy inside the M-28, ready to take it out for a spin!

M-28
I think it's kind of a funny looking plane...with a big belly
Going to check out the PC-12

That looks really cool! Of course, I don't see what's so hard about flying one of those things. The four of us flew and successfully landed a spaceship in Epcot this past April. It was a rough landing thanks to Shane not pushing the right button and me wanting to puke with motion sickness - but, no big deal.

Commando Family Day, huh? I'm just glad Craig didn't 'go commando' for any of the snapshots.

Great pictures, J. It's really cool to get to see Craig's plane(s). Man, they all three fly VERY different ones, don't they??? Love the shirt Liz gave Andy. :)
